Description

A refreshing non-alcoholic lemon drop mocktail that is perfect for summer parties or a cozy afternoon treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.25 oz lemon juice, fresh
  • ¾ oz simple syrup
  • 2.5 oz club soda, chilled
  • ice
  • sugar for rimming

Instructions

  1. Prep the Glasses: Start by prepping your glasses with a sugar rim. Wet the rim with lemon juice and then dip it into sugar. You will get a sweet crunch when sipping your drink. Just be sure to wet it well; otherwise, the sugar will not stick properly.
  2. Mix the Lemon Juice: Pour fresh lemon juice into a shaker. This gives your mocktail that bright citrus flavor. Remember not to skip this step, as it is where all the deliciousness starts.
  3. Add the Club Soda: Gently add chilled club soda to the shaker with the lemon juice. You will notice the soda fizzing up. Pour too aggressively, and it might overflow, making a mess.
  4. Shake It Up: Put the lid on your shaker and shake it lightly. You want everything well mixed without losing all the fizz. Just a few seconds should do the trick, so do not go overboard or the bubbles will disappear.
  5. Pour and Garnish: Pour the mocktail into your prepared glasses, filling them about three-quarters full. You will see the beautiful yellow color pop! Top it with a lemon coin for that fresh, inviting look. A messy pour might spoil your presentation.

Notes

  • Best served immediately after preparation; do not store.
  • If the mocktail tastes too tart, consider adding more club soda to tone down the lemon flavor for a sweeter sip.
  • For a sugar rim that sticks better, wet the rim of the glass thoroughly with lemon juice or a bit of water before dipping.
  • When using fresh lemons instead of bottled juice, expect a brighter flavor that enhances your drink, making it even more enjoyable.
  • If you prefer a sweeter drink, gradually increase the amount of lemon juice while keeping the sweetener balanced to suit your taste.
  • For chilling club soda, pop it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes prior to serving for a refreshing, cool drink.
