Description
Deliciously crispy air fryer potatoes, perfect for a vegetarian side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound (450g) Yukon gold baby potatoes, cut into one inch pieces
- 2 Tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
- 1/2 Tablespoon (7.5g) Italian Seasoning
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup (25g) shredded parmesan
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Start by preheating your air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) to make it nice and hot. You will notice it warming up and it is the secret to crispy results later. Skipping this step can lead to uneven cooking, so do not forget it!
- Coat the Potatoes: Give your cut potatoes a light spray of oil to help them crisp up. The aroma of the oil will fill the kitchen, and you will see them glistening. Be careful not to drown them in oil; a light coating is all you need for that crunch.
- Add to the Air Fryer: Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, spreading them out for airflow. They should look cozy but not overcrowded. If you pile them in too thick, you might end up with some soggy spuds instead of crispy bites.
- Cook and Check: Cook those potatoes for about 20 minutes and be sure to keep an eye on them. You will notice a delicious aroma filling the air as they cook. Halfway through, give the basket a good shake to make sure everything crisps evenly.
- Cool Before Serving: Once they are done, let the potatoes cool for a couple of minutes. They will look golden brown and so inviting. It is tempting to dig in right away, but letting them cool just a bit helps keep that crispy texture intact.
Notes
- Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.
- Freeze: Freeze sealed tightly for 6-8 months.
- If soggy potatoes are a problem, cutting them into uniform pieces will help them cook evenly and crisp up nicely.
- When crispiness is not achieved, shaking the air fryer basket halfway through cooking can promote more even browning.
- If the outside is charred while the inside remains raw, lowering the temperature and extending the cooking time can improve results.
- For maximum crispiness, take a moment to preheat your air fryer.
- To avoid breaking your potatoes, flip them gently during cooking to help maintain their shape.
